Achievements: Mark has 35 years experience as a musculoskeletal physiotherapist and 25 years as a clinical educator of health professionals internationally.
Mark was a lecturer on the post-graduate Manipulative Physiotherapy and Sports Physiotherapy programs at Curtin University. He has presented more than 300 courses nationally and internationally and has been a keynote speaker at many conferences.
Mark has written 7 textbook chapters, published in scientific journals and is in the process of writing a textbook on the pelvis. Mark has developed new examination and treatment strategies for pelvis and TMJ disorders based on the Mulligan Concept and is regarded internationally as an expert in the these areas. He is currently collaborating with university researchers in the USA who are examining the effectiveness of his approach.
Although seeing a wide range of disorders, most often Mark is referred complex and persistent pelvic and orofacial disorders. He also works with athletes to identify and treat persistent injuries and has developed a unique functional exercise approach to prepare individuals to participate in or return to conventional exercise.In 2009, Mark received the inaugural Australian Physiotherapy Association (WA) award for contribution to physiotherapy education “An award presented to an APA member who has made an outstanding contribution to physiotherapy education”.
